Winter Onboard in Annapolis
Saturday, November 7
The warm sun came through the overhead companionway hatch and gently nudged us out of bed. Maggie got up first and got her coffee started while I happily occupied the expanded space in the v-berth. The outside temperature was 50 degrees in the morning and it was expected to reach 67 degrees by the afternoon, very moderate for this time of year on the Chesapeake Bay. We happily look forward to a "very moderate" winter!

At 11:30 AM, CNN announced that Biden had clinched
Pennsylvania (my home state) and won the election!!!
----------
With all the tourists in town today, it seemed like we were living in a fish bowl. We didn't venture out much due to our concerns about catching the coronavirus, even with the city-wide mask mandate.
The very last book I have read relating to Trump! |
I just finished reading Peter Strzok's book entitled Compromised, the book cover shown above. Peter Strzok was the FBI agent who investigated Trump's ties to Russia and who was ridiculed (and later fired) due to some of his personal texts. The book details the concerns that the FBI had when they started the Russia investigation--it was all warranted. I highly recommend this book!
Today was Lola's third birthday! She was loving all the attention from passers by in Annapolis--many people commented on her beauty.

I was able to listen to the Penn State-Maryland football game, starting at 3:30 PM. Penn State got off to a slow start, a continuation of their problems in the previous two games. Of course, not having the two best running backs out (due to injury and illness) didn't help. Penn State lost their third game of the season 35-19 to Maryland.
Sunday, November 8
Today was another beautiful day in Annapolis! Shortly after we woke and had breakfast onboard, the muscle cars arrived in the parking lot and occasionally revved their engines--apparently this is a Sunday morning ritual in Annapolis.
----------
I'm making pork and sauerkraut in the crockpot for lunch today. For the potatoes, I added some multicolored small potatoes, cutting them in halves. Some of the potatoes were purple--they were even purple on the inside. Most of the day was spent relaxing and watching football.
The Fleet Reserve Club was directly across Ego Alley from us. |
Lots of people stroll along the Annapolis waterfront in the evening. |
Monday, November 9
Monday was another beautiful day with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures (60's).
----------
I called Hartge's Yacht Yard first thing in the morning about the possibility of fixing our TV antenna (and troubleshooting our wind sensor) at the top of the mast and found out that they were slammed with work--boats were waiting on moorings because no dock space was available.
----------
We decided to go out to lunch at the Mexican Cafe and take advantage of the Margarita Monday special. The Mexican Cafe is a very casual place where we can eat outside safely--it's one of our favorite restaurants.
Our first margarita at the Mexican Cafe. |
As I close out this blogpost at shortly after 5 PM, it was getting dark outside. Stay tuned for our next blogpost...
