This blog is about our journey from our very responsible careers into a life of retirement, and from living in our home in Annapolis to living aboard and cruising our C&C Landfall 38, S/V Rainy Days. It starts with the refit of our 30-year old sailboat in 2013. This blog covers all the preparations we undertake prior to leaving for the Bahamas in the fall of 2016 and will continue as our cruising adventure unfolds.

House-less But Not Homeless
--Blogpost written by Bob
Our house is now in the hands of it's new owners! We have been living full-time on our sailboat for the past 6 months but we no longer have the option of doing laundry at our house or some of the other conveniences we have enjoyed.
No more house, mortgage payments, property taxes, or water bills!
All of our credit card balances have been paid off and we have no more mortgage payments, property taxes, or water bills to pay. We are in the process of buying our condominium slip in Baltimore with cash--there will be quarterly condo fees which are quite nominal and should be covered by slip rental income while we are cruising.
It's a great feeling! All we have to do now is get through two bad winter months on board: January and February.
