Fall Life in Baltimore

Sep 23 thru Sep 27

—Blogpost written by Bob

During this blogpost period, I didn’t write a little each day like I usually do or even make notes. The recent several days have seemed like I have had the “blahs”, for lack of a better description. It has been overcast and raining every day during this time. I’ve felt sick a couple days but I’m feeling better now.

I’m writing this on Thursday, September 27. We just picked up our new white 2015 Prius and I ordered the new alloy rims.  It should be a happy moment (getting a new car is usually a happy moment) but my “blahs” (or the depressing weather) have prevented me from feeling happy.

The overcast rainy weather has
contributed to my "blahs".
This is the entrance
to "C" dock.

As we look ahead to our trip south, there is a safety zone around most of the SC coast (including the ICW) which is impassable at the moment.  Because of flooding, some bridges are inoperable.  The safety zone is in effect until October 20.  We will be leaving Baltimore on October 18 but will be spending the remainder of October in the Chesapeake Bay.  So, we may be able to use the ICW as planned--or, we will have to go "outside" from Southport NC to Charleston SC (about 22 hours nonstop).

I am anxious to get moving, even though we have a lot of things to do before we leave.  Most of the things remaining to be done involve provisioning.

The weather is supposed to improve tomorrow...thanks for following our blog!
